Chevrolet unveils its first electric stock car prototype with the Blazer EV.R NASCAR

If the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype visually resembles the road-going Blazer SS EV. However, the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype reaches a mind-blowing 1,300 horsepower with its three six-stage motors spinning at over 15,000 rpm.

The Blazer EV.R has all-wheel drive with its three motors, which draw power from a 78 kWh liquid-cooled battery.

This vehicle was not designed to race its rivals. According to the Chevrolet brand, it is "an example of Chevrolet continuing to test, learn and explore new technologies that could be applied to both course programs and production cars."

We understand that this is ultimately a vehicle that demonstrates what an electric racing car will look like in the future.

Unfortunately for Chevrolet, the unveiling of this vehicle does not make everyone happy.

On Facebook, someone named Eric writes ''What a waste of engineering. If this is the future of Chevy...I am done'' and another, Brad, also goes in the same direction by writing ''Chevrolet has really lost their minds.. so sad to see such a great iconic brand take such a fall.''

Stephen also doesn't seem convinced and he specifies ''That's a lot of lights on the steering wheel. Indy car has something similar. Not so much NASCAR though.''

Other Internet users, however, liked it. Someone named Ryan mentions ''Awesome! This is great. Looking forward to this version of NASCAR'' and Mark adds ''I'll take that!! Where the keys to this ride?''

Opinions are therefore very mixed and it will be interesting to watch the next unveilings.
