1,000-horsepower electric sports car by Piëch Automotive set to debut in 2026

The Piëch GT, boasting 1,000 horsepower, is priced at $200,000 and will be available in three years. The journey of this electric marvel begins with its innovative design and powerful performance.

Piëch Automotive, known for its bold vision, has unveiled the exterior design of the Piëch GT through a full-size clay model, though the interior remains under wraps. The Piëch Dual2Drive system promises over 1,000 horsepower, independent wheel control, and customizable drive modes, setting a new standard in electric vehicle performance.

The GT will not only lead Piëch Automotive's lineup but will also pave the way for a four-door sedan, an SUV, and potentially other models. This ambitious project has evolved since the company's inception in 2017, with the Mark Zero concept making its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Initially expected to enter production this year under the name Piëch GT, the plan was delayed. However, with new leadership under Tobias Moers, former CEO of Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin, the brand has found a renewed direction.

Despite the illustrious heritage associated with the name Piëch, Ferdinand Piëch, the mastermind behind the Bugatti Veyron, has distanced himself from this project. His son, Toni Piëch, is at the helm of Piëch Automotive. According to Car and Driver, Ferdinand Piëch stated, "I am in no way involved, nor do I take an active interest in it."

The Piëch GT is set to revolutionize the electric sports car market, combining heritage with cutting-edge technology. Its 1,000-horsepower output, sleek design, and advanced driving systems are poised to make a significant impact upon its release in 2026.
